LAMA research is focused on the study of molecular mechanisms of the impact of antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents on the integrity of cellular DNA, reparation processes and the occurrence of mutations, and the formation of resistance. The use of classical microbiological methods and modern molecular biological approaches, including deep sequencing and fluorescence microscopy, allows us to study the interaction of bacteria with the environment, including stress factors and bacteriophages. A search is underway for new potential targets for inhibition and subsequent antibiotic therapy, as well as the development of methods for reducing the rate of emergence of resistant strains.

Дополнительная информация
Researchers in the Laboratory have an extensive practical experience in the fields of microbiology and molecular biology, in particular, cloning, modifying strains of bacteria and viruses, studying the properties of proteins in vitro and in vivo, studying antibiotics and other stress agents, as well as bacterial defense systems. Methods with single bacterial cell experiments are being developed.
The laboratory is actively developing scientific and social life with seminars, participation in conferences, collaborations with leading Russian and foreign scientists. Employees are in demand in leading world laboratories and have the opportunity to build a scientific career both within the our laboratory and around the world.
We are hiring students, postgraduates and researchers who want to work with bacteria, bacteriophages, eukaryotic cells, who are enthusiastic about conducting research in new areas and are ready to combine a high degree of independence with the opportunity to carry out large and interesting projects.
